Initiating Payments via Superfiliate

An important part of running your programs is paying your Superfiliates for their commission (and flat rate fees if applicable) in a timely manner. We recommend incorporating your payment terms in your program details, setting a regular payment schedule, and — most importantly — sticking to it, so your Superfiliates know what to expect and payments are a seamless, positive experience.

Payments to Superfiliates are NOT processed automatically. You need to initiate payouts when you're ready, either through our integrations (more info below) or by handling payments outside the platform and marking them as completed offline so your records stay up to date. To send funds via Superfiliate, you'll need an account with your payment platform of choice and a completed integration under Settings > Integrations > Payments.

Shopify and Meta balances

Creators can now hold two separate balances, depending on how they earned:

  • Shopify balance — rewards earned through your Influencer Hub programs (referral commissions).

  • Meta balance — commission earned on Meta Ads (Partnership Ads).

When you pay commission, you choose which balance to pay out — Shopify only, Meta only, or the total across both at once. Each creator's balances are tracked separately so you always know what's owed per channel.

Payment Options

Superfiliate currently integrates with three payment platforms:

Initiating Payments

Navigate to: Management > Payments > Pending

  1. Filter conversions up to the date you'd like to process payouts to. (Brands often pay out last month's commissions at the beginning or middle of the current month.)

  2. Optionally filter by program or contact tag, or search for a specific Superfiliate.

  3. Select who you'd like to pay — make sure you select all pages of Superfiliates if you have multiple pages of members to pay out.

  4. Click Pay Commission when it appears in the bottom right.

  5. Choose which balance to pay:

    • Pay total balance — pays each selected creator in full across both Shopify and Meta in one go. Amounts are fixed and can't be edited.

    • Shopify balance — pays only the Influencer Hub rewards. You can edit each amount before confirming.

    • Meta balance — pays only the Meta Ads commission. You can edit each amount before confirming.

  6. Select the payout method, then click Pay Commission.

Adjusting amounts: When paying a single balance (Shopify or Meta), you can manually adjust the amount you pay each person up or down before completing the payment. The Pay total balance option pays fixed amounts and can't be edited.

Note: "Mark as Paid" does NOT transfer any funds — it simply records funds as paid offline/outside of Superfiliate. Your Superfiliate will not receive any payment unless you send it outside the platform.

One Offs / Flat Rate

Navigate to: Management > Payments and click Send Money in the upper-right corner.

  1. Select the Superfiliates you'd like to pay and click Next.

  2. Select the payment method, enter the amount you'd like to pay, and include an optional payment reason note.

  3. Click Send money to complete the payment.

One-off payments are ad-hoc amounts you enter directly, so they aren't tied to a creator's Shopify or Meta balance.

Troubleshooting

  • When a payment fails, you'll see a red “i” icon next to “Failed” to the right of the Superfiliate whose payment didn't go through. Hover over the icon to learn more about the failure.

Common issues

  • Issue with your integration — check that your setup is complete:

    • Tremendous: Funds, Campaign

    • PayPal: Business PayPal, Payouts API enabled, sufficient funds available in USD

  • Not seeing a Superfiliate in Pending Payouts:

    • Verify the Superfiliate's payout type is Payouts and not Store Credit, by checking the Settings of the program they belong to.

    • Confirm you're viewing the right balance — a creator may have a Meta balance but no Shopify balance (or vice versa). Switch the balance option to see channel-specific amounts.

    • Meta Ads commission only appears once the ad's earning thresholds (if set) have been met.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. What's the difference between the Shopify and Meta balances?

A. Shopify balance is rewards earned through your Influencer Hub programs (referral commissions). Meta balance is commission earned on Meta Ads (Partnership Ads). They're tracked separately and can be paid together or independently.

Q2. Why can't I edit amounts on some payouts?

Q3. Are payments processed automatically?

A. No. You initiate every payout manually, either through an integrated payment provider or by paying outside the platform and marking it as completed offline.

Q4. Does "Mark as Paid" send money?

A. No. It only records a payment as made offline. The creator won't receive funds unless you pay them outside Superfiliate.

Q5. Do one-off / flat-rate payments use these balances?

A. No. Send Money payments are ad-hoc amounts you enter directly, independent of a creator's Shopify or Meta balance.
