What is the Rights Request feature?

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Overview

Rights Request lets you ask a creator for permission to use their organic content — starting from exactly where that content already lives in Social Listening. Instead of downloading media, re-uploading it, and chasing permission by hand, you send a request in a few clicks and let the creator approve it on a branded page.

Use this feature when you want to:

  • Request usage rights on a creator's organic post you found in Social Listening

  • Send the request by email or Instagram DM

  • Give the creator a branded approval page that previews the exact content you're requesting

  • Let the creator approve or deny without needing a Superfiliate account (via a public link)

  • Pull approved content into your Content Library, ready to use in ads

Requirements

Make sure that:

  • Your brand has been enabled for the Rights Request feature (see the note above)

  • You have access to the Meta Ads Suite plan

  • Your social integration is connected so creator mentions and hashtag posts appear in Social Listening

  • You've identified an organic post you'd like to request rights for

Important limitations

  • One media at a time. Requests are sent per post — bulk requests aren't supported yet.

  • Carousels aren't supported. The request preview sends a single media.

  • Email or Instagram DM only. There's no TikTok messaging channel yet.

  • A request overwrites existing rights on the same media. If a media already has rights set and you send a request on it, the request replaces them (and vice versa). Set rights or send a request — avoid doing both on the same asset.

Getting started with Rights Request

1. You found a post you want to run as an ad

  • Open the post in Social Listening and send a rights request directly from the card.

2. The creator approves

  • They review the request on a branded approval page and accept via a public link — no account needed. The approved content lands in your Content Library.

3. You use the content

  • With rights approved and stored, build your ad using content you're licensed to run.
