How to request content rights from Social Listening

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Overview

Requesting content rights from Social Listening means asking a creator for permission to use an organic post you found — without leaving the page where the content already lives. You fill in a short guided composer, choose how to send it, and the creator approves or denies on a branded page.

Use this feature when you want to:

  • Turn an organic mention or hashtag post into content you're licensed to run

  • Send a permission request by email or Instagram DM

  • Give the creator a branded approval page with a preview of the exact content

  • Automatically collect approved content into your Content Library

Important behaviors

  • The creator doesn't need an account. They approve or deny through a public link.

  • One media per request. Requests are sent per card — bulk requests aren't supported yet, and carousels aren't supported.

  • Email or Instagram DM only. TikTok messaging isn't available yet.

  • Sending a request overwrites existing rights on that media (and vice versa). Avoid setting rights and sending a request on the same asset.

Step-by-step

1. Find the post in Social Listening

Open Social Listening and locate the tagged mention or hashtag post you want to use.

2. Start the request

From the post's card, choose Request rights to open the guided composer.

3. Step 1 — Set the terms

Choose the usage rights you're requesting — Unlimited or a validity window (for example, 7, 30, or 60 days).

4. Step 2 — Write your message

Add the message the creator will see with your request. Keep it clear about what you're asking to use and for how long.

5. Step 3 — Choose a collection

Pick the collection where the approved content should be organized in your Content Library.

6. Choose how to send

Send via email or Instagram DM.

7. Send and track

The creator receives a branded approval page (via a public link) that previews the exact content requested. When they approve, the content flows into your Content Library with rights applied; if they deny, the request is marked accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Does the creator need a Superfiliate account?

A. No. They approve or deny through a public link on a branded page.

Q2. Can I request rights on several posts at once?

A. Not yet. Requests are sent one media at a time, and carousels aren't supported.

Q3. What channels can I send through?

A. Email or Instagram DM. TikTok messaging isn't available yet.

Q4. What happens to rights I already set on that media?

A. Sending a request currently overwrites existing rights on the same media (and vice versa). To avoid surprises, either set rights manually or send a request for a given asset — not both.

Q5. Where does approved content go?

A. Into the collection you chose in the composer, inside your Content Library — ready to use in ads.
