How YouTube Competitive Intel Works
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Overview
YouTube Competitive Intel lets you benchmark your brand's YouTube performance against the competitor and category content you're already monitoring.
You choose which benchmark sources to include — the YouTube hashtags and links you track in Social Listening — and Superfiliate pulls every matching video into a single benchmark set, deduplicates overlaps, and lets you slice it by format and date.
Use this feature when you want to:
See how much competitor/category content exists across the hashtags and links you monitor
Build a like-for-like benchmark set to compare your content against
Focus the benchmark on a specific content format or time window
How It Works & Limitations
Benchmark sources:
Sources are your monitored YouTube hashtags and monitored YouTube links — set these up in Social Listening first
Only active (kept) YouTube monitors appear as available sources
You must select at least one source to save a custom benchmark
Default behavior:
If you haven't configured a benchmark yet, it defaults to all available sources
Choosing "Use default" clears your custom selection and reverts to all sources
Deduplication:
A video that matches more than one selected source is counted once in your benchmark total
The benchmark shows both the deduplicated total and how many duplicates were removed
Step-by-Step
Configuring your benchmark
Go to YouTube → Competitive Intel
Review the list of available benchmark sources (your monitored hashtags and links)
Select the sources you want in the benchmark, or leave the default (all sources)
Click Save
To reset, choose Use default to revert to all sources
Reading your benchmark
Check the selected videos count — the deduplicated total in scope
Check the duplicates removed count to see overlap across sources
Review the per-source video counts to see which hashtags/links contribute most
Filtering
Apply a content format to focus on one video type
Set a start and/or end date to scope by post date
The counts update to reflect your filters
FAQ
Q1. Why don't I see any sources?
A: You need active YouTube monitors first. Add monitored hashtags or links in Social Listening, then return here.
Q2. Why is my total lower than the sum of the per-source counts?
A: Videos matching multiple sources are deduplicated — each video is counted once in the total.
Q3. What happens if I don't configure a benchmark?
A: It defaults to all of your available YouTube sources until you save a custom selection.
Q4. Can I have different benchmarks for different campaigns?
A: No — there's one benchmark configuration per store. Use the format and date filters to focus a view.
Q5. Does this include platforms other than YouTube?
A: No, the benchmark is YouTube-only.
