Tracking YouTube Videos in a SuperBrief
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Overview
Every SuperBrief has a Social Listening area with a dedicated YouTube section. This is where the YouTube videos tied to that campaign live, connecting real creator content to the deliverables you briefed, so you can see what's been submitted, how it's performing, and whether creators have met their commitments.Superfiliate doesn't monitor creators' channels. A video only shows up here once its link has been added, either by you, or by the creator submitting it through their portal. From there, Superfiliate matches the video to the right brief and tracks its performance.
How Videos Get Into a Brief
There are two ways a video's link gets added, and each is labeled with its source:
Manual: you add the video yourself from the brief.
Automatic: the video was matched to this brief for you. Once a video is in Superfiliate (for example, a link a creator submitted as a deliverable), it's automatically attached to any brief where the creator is an active participant and the video was posted within the brief's tracking window.
Note: "Automatic" refers to matching an already-added video to the right campaign, not scanning YouTube channels. A link always has to be provided first.
Creators can submit their own video links
Creators can add a video link directly as a deliverable in their SuperBrief Portal, they paste the YouTube URL for the video that fulfills a brief task. Both listed and unlisted videos work, since Superfiliate reads the video by its link. This is often the easiest path: the creator supplies the exact video they want credited, and it flows into the brief for you to review.
Adding Videos Manually
You can also add videos yourself at any time.
Open your SuperBrief and go to the Social Listening → YouTube section.
Click Add Video.
Add videos one of three ways:
Paste links: one or more YouTube URLs (long-form or Shorts).
Upload a CSV: a spreadsheet of video links.
Import a Google Sheet: paste a shared Google Sheet URL to pull links directly.
Superfiliate fetches each video and adds it to the brief, tagged as Manual.
Note: If a video's creator doesn't yet have an email address on file, you'll be prompted to add one before the video can be added to the brief. This keeps every tracked creator reachable for payouts and communication.
Assigning Videos to Deliverables
A brief defines the deliverables you expect from creators. Linking a video to its deliverable is how you confirm the work was completed.
Click a video to open its preview, where you can review the thumbnail, title, description, and key metrics (Views, Likes, Comments), and open it on YouTube.
Click Assign deliverable (or Select deliverable).
Choose the deliverable this video fulfills.
Once assigned, the deliverable name appears in the video's Assigned column. Videos that haven't been connected yet show Not Assigned, making it easy to spot outstanding work at a glance. You can reassign a video at any time from the same preview.
Removing Videos From a Brief
To unlink a video that doesn't belong to the campaign:
One video: open its ⋯ menu and choose Unlink from brief, or click a single row and confirm.
Several at once: select multiple videos using the checkboxes, then click Unlink from brief in the bulk actions bar.
Unlinking removes the video from this brief only; it stays in your broader Social Listening library.
Note: If a video still qualifies for the brief (matching creator and tracking window), it can be re-matched on the next sync. To keep a creator's content out permanently, block their profile in your UGC settings.
Understanding the Metrics
Each video in the brief carries the same performance data as the Social Listening library, Views, Likes, Comments, Engagement Rate, and EMV (earned media value), plus its Format (Long Form or Shorts) and its source tag (Manual or Automatic). Use these to evaluate how campaign content is performing and to report results back to stakeholders.
Best Practices
Ask creators to submit their video link as a deliverable in the portal, it's the most reliable way to capture the exact video they want credited, listed or unlisted.
Set the brief's tracking window up front so creator-submitted videos match to the campaign automatically.
Assign deliverables as videos come in to keep a clear, real-time picture of who has delivered.
Add creator emails promptly when prompted, so tracking and payouts aren't held up.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Superfiliate find videos on a creator's channel automatically?
No. A video's link has to be added first, either by you or by the creator through their portal. Superfiliate doesn't scan channels.
Then what does the "Automatic" tag mean?
It means an already-added video was auto-matched to this brief because the creator is an active participant and the video was posted within the brief's tracking window.
Can creators add their own videos?
Yes, they paste the video link as a deliverable in their SuperBrief Portal. Listed and unlisted videos both work.
Can I track a video posted before the campaign began?
Yes, add it manually. The tracking window governs automatic matching, but manual adds have no such restriction.
