How to Connect OuterSignal to Superfiliate

The OuterSignal integration allows you to seamlessly enroll creators from your customer base into Superfiliate programs.

With this integration, you can select creators directly from your OuterSignal Influencers board, automate enrollment based on specific segments, and track their Superfiliate status, all without switching between platforms.

Before You Start

Before setting up the integration, make sure you have:

  • Access to both your Superfiliate and OuterSignal accounts.

  • At least one active program in Superfiliate.

  • Superfiliate API credentials with the required permissions.

Step 1: Generate Your Superfiliate API Credentials

First, you'll need to generate an API key to securely connect your accounts.

  1. Log in to Superfiliate and navigate to Settings → Developers → API Keys.

  2. Click Generate API key.

  3. Name your API key OuterSignal.

  4. Enable the following permissions:

Allows OuterSignal to access your Superfiliate programs.

customers.read

Allows OuterSignal to identify existing customer and creator profiles.

customers.write

Allows OuterSignal to create creator profiles and enroll them in programs.

conversions.read

Allows OuterSignal to retrieve conversion data and display creator sales performance.

gifting_campaigns.read

Allows OuterSignal to access your gifting campaigns.

gifting_campaigns.write

Allows OuterSignal to add creators to gifting campaigns.

Note: Write permissions automatically include read access for the corresponding resource.

  1. Click Generate key.

  2. Copy and securely store your Client ID and Client secret.

Your Client secret is only displayed once. Make sure to save it securely before closing the window.

Step 2: Connect Superfiliate to OuterSignal

Once you've generated your API credentials, you're ready to connect both platforms.

  1. Log in to OuterSignal.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations.

  3. Find Superfiliate in the list of available integrations.

  4. Click Connect.

  5. Enter your Superfiliate Client ID and Client secret.

  6. Complete the connection process.

Step 3: Enroll Creators in a Superfiliate Program

After connecting your accounts, you can create a playbook to automatically enroll creators in your Superfiliate programs.

  1. In OuterSignal, open the Influencers board.

  2. Apply filters to define the segment of creators you want to enroll.

  3. Click Send to and select Superfiliate.

  4. Choose the Superfiliate program you'd like to enroll creators in.

  5. Click Create playbook to activate the workflow.

Important: How automatic enrollment works

When you create a playbook:

  • Existing creators: Creators who already match your selected segment will be enrolled when the playbook is created.

  • New matching creators: Any creators who match the segment criteria in the future will be automatically enrolled.

We recommend reviewing your segment filters carefully before activating the playbook to ensure you're targeting the right creators.

Note: The selected program's configuration in Superfiliate determines how creators are invited.

You can also create and manage these workflows directly from the Playbooks section in OuterSignal.

Step 4: Track Creator Status in OuterSignal

Once creators are enrolled, you can monitor their Superfiliate status directly from the OuterSignal Influencers board.

A Superfiliate indicator will appear on their profiles, allowing you to identify whether a creator has:

  • Been invited to a program.

  • Become an active creator.

  • Generated sales through Superfiliate.

This makes it easier to track creator activity and performance without having to check each profile individually in Superfiliate.

Step 5: Add Creators to Gifting Campaigns (Optional)

You can also use the integration to add creators to your Superfiliate gifting campaigns.

To set this up:

  1. In OuterSignal, navigate to Playbooks.

  2. Add the Superfiliate Gifting action to your workflow.

  3. Select the Superfiliate gifting campaign you'd like to use.

  4. Review your configuration before activating the playbook.

Gifting actions follow the settings of the selected campaign in Superfiliate. Adding a creator to a gifting campaign does not necessarily mean their gift will be shipped immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I remove a creator from a Superfiliate program through OuterSignal?

No. Once a creator has been enrolled, you'll need to manage their program membership directly in Superfiliate.

Can I cancel or recall a gift through the integration?

No. Gifts that have already been sent cannot be recalled through the OuterSignal integration.

We recommend reviewing your creator segments and gifting campaign settings before activating any automated workflows.

Will new creators be enrolled automatically?

Yes! Once your playbook is active, creators who match your configured segment criteria will automatically be enrolled in the selected Superfiliate program.

How are creator invitations handled?

Creator invitations follow the settings of the Superfiliate program selected in your playbook. Make sure your program is configured as intended before enabling automatic enrollment.
