Custom Domain Set Up

Choose a custom landing page domain

A custom domain gives your creator landing pages a branded address, such as partners.brand.com/CODE. Use a subdomain your team owns that is not already serving another website.

Recommended: use your storefront’s root domain

If shoppers buy on brand.com, use a subdomain such as partners.brand.com or creators.brand.com. Sharing the storefront’s root helps tracking cookies carry between landing pages and the storefront, supporting your configured attribution window. Browser privacy settings, consent choices, and your tracking integration can still affect which sales are credited.

Recommended storefront-domain setup, with a green tracking notice and the fixed .yourbrand.com suffix beside the editable prefix.

Optional: use a different root domain

When A different domain is enabled for your store, you can enter a complete subdomain on another root, such as partners.brandcampaign.com. If you do not see this option, contact Superfiliate support to check availability. This gives you more branding flexibility, but may reduce tracking accuracy. Some sales may not be credited to creators.

Browsers cannot share a landing-page cookie directly between unrelated root domains. Superfiliate’s existing shopping links can carry session information to the connected storefront, where the installed tracking integration may continue attribution. That depends on the shopper following the intended link, preserving its parameters, and the destination’s integration, consent, and browser settings. Do not assume a returning shopper who opens the storefront separately will retain the same tracking context.

A different landing-page domain does not connect another store. Products, discounts, orders, and creator sales reporting still belong to the store connected to Superfiliate. Discounts created for that store do not become valid on a separate Shopify store.

If your storefront shows a myshopify.com address

The Your storefront domain option is marked Unavailable when the storefront address shown is a myshopify.com address. Set up a domain you own for your Shopify storefront to use the recommended option and help keep tracking connected through checkout.

When A different domain is enabled, it starts selected instead. You can still click the unavailable storefront option to read the explanation. If you already connected your own storefront domain but Superfiliate still shows myshopify.com, contact support to check the storefront address before changing your existing setup.

Set up your domain

  1. Open Settings → Custom Domain in Superfiliate. Choose the recommended storefront option, or the different-domain option if enabled.
  2. For Your storefront domain, the fixed suffix is shown inside the input. Enter the prefix only, such as “partners” or “creators”. For a different domain, enter the complete subdomain, such as partners.brandcampaign.com, without https://, a path, or a port.
  3. Check the complete landing-page address, then continue and select your domain provider.
  4. Create the CNAME record shown in the app, pointing to microsites.superfiliate.com. The CNAME must be directly visible during verification; use DNS-only (unproxied) settings if your provider offers them. For a nested subdomain such as partners.us.brand.com, keep the complete prefix partners.us when editing the brand.com DNS zone.
  5. Select Get ownership records, then add the TXT record shown. This proves control of the hostname for your connected store. Some domains also require an additional provider verification TXT record.
  6. Select Verify domain. DNS changes can take a few hours to appear. If a provider appends your DNS zone automatically, enter only the part of each record name before that zone; otherwise use the complete name shown.
  7. After DNS verification succeeds, continue and select Connect domain. The “DNS verified” message confirms the records; it is not the final connection step. Open a creator link after connecting to check that the intended landing page loads.

Self-service setup requires a subdomain. Apex/root addresses, such as brandcampaign.com, are not supported by the required CNAME verification. Use an address such as partners.brandcampaign.com.

Existing domains and ownership

Existing connections are not automatically changed when the different-domain option becomes available. Your existing referral and gift-selection links continue using their current connection. If a replacement fails to connect, your current connection is kept.

If you intentionally replace a custom domain using Edit, the old custom domain is removed after the replacement connects. Previously shared links on the removed hostname may stop working. Plan that change before sharing a new address.

A domain actively connected to another store cannot be claimed through self-service setup. Contact support for a transfer. A released domain requires fresh ownership verification before another store can connect it. Ownership records expire after 24 hours. Select Get new ownership records and replace the TXT value if verification has expired.

Headless and custom storefronts

A branded landing-page address does not install or repair storefront tracking. Headless storefronts need the supported Superfiliate storefront integration on the destination and the expected page-view handling. Custom commerce stores need their existing checkout/order integration to preserve session information and send attribution data. Contact your developer or support if your storefront does not follow the standard shopping-link flow.

See Using Superfiliate with a Headless Storefront and Choose where your creator links send shoppers for destination-specific guidance.

If pages load but sales are missing

  • Confirm the shopper reaches the connected store and that a redirect, link shortener, or custom checkout does not strip tracking parameters.
  • Confirm your storefront integration loads, handles page views as documented, and follows your consent configuration.
  • Check browser privacy/ad-blocking settings and whether the shopper followed a creator’s link or opened the store separately.
  • For Google Analytics and other analytics tools, review their own cross-domain configuration. A custom domain alone does not configure those tools.
  • If the issue continues, contact support with the creator link, landing-page hostname, destination store, and an example order.
